In the Agricultural sector, 12.5 million tonnes of plastic is used across the world every year in a variety of forms, including mulch film, silage films, tote drums, pesticide containers, feed bags and lots more.
The EPRO membership includes many of the largest collection systems for agricultural plastics, and we are passionate about moving the industry closer towards circularity. Areas of discussion include Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), best practice in voluntary industry led systems, and developments in mandatory EPR.
We also discuss topics such as:
- Recycled content.
- Developments in recycling capacity for different agricultural plastic wastes and quality of recovered materials.
- Collaboration with value chain partners such as producers, farmers, disposal companies, recyclers.
- Fulfilment of different legal requirements in single countries or at a EU/Global level.
The group is Chaired by EPRO member, RIGK, in Germany.
